Those who wish to survive in this wilderness must be perfectly attuned to their environment. The film presents the most beautiful and most interesting denizens of the mountains. At dizzying heights, the viewers meet chamois, always on guard against the talons of the golden eagles, bustling marmots, masters of camouflage like the snow grouse and mountain flowers like the legendary edelweiss. Far below, the camera takes us to the depths of the Königsee Lake, where the mysterious burbot spawns. Cineflex aerial footage, sophisticated tracking shots and impressive long exposure time-lapse photography show the Berchtesgaden National Park from its largely unknown side, they "paint" its moods and so illustrate the course of the seasons in one of Germany's most beautiful regions.
